Prospective members must be actively involved in the Napa Valley winemaking community. If this prerequisite is met, a prospective member must fill out an application, and (after approval by the board) pay annual monetary and triennial wine dues.
The annual monetary dues for members are currently $175 (annual dues are reduced to $165 for those who pay via PayPal). One (12 bottle) case of wine dues is contributed every third year for use at meetings. For 2012, members with last names beginning with the letters H-O will contribute wine dues. Cabernet Sauvignons and sparkling wines are most needed. Mixed cases are allowed.
The regular dinner fees are currently $30 for members and $60 for guests. For the first two meetings of the year, the dinner fee for guests is discounted to $30. A limited number of discounted spaces are held open at each meeting for viticulture and enology students at nearby universities; the fee for these students is $25.
You may request to bring a guest when you email to R.S.V.P. for a meeting. Be aware that the admission of your guest to the dinner portion of the meeting is contingent upon the availability of space. If you or your guest cannot attend a meeting, and you do not call or email to cancel your reservation by the RSVP deadline, then we will have to charge you for the fee that you and/or your guest has incurred.
No fee is assessed for the dinner at the business meeting, typically held in early December.
If interested in joining, please download and fill out the form below. Note that the application should be returned to the address listed at the top of your information form.
Your application will be reviewed by the NVWTG Executive Committee at the Committee’s monthly business meetings (usually the first Tuesday of the month). We will notify you of your membership status immediately after the meeting.
The membership application deadline is the last day of March each year. Please do not hesitate to contact us at info@nvwtg.org if you have any questions.
We look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Napa Valley Wine Technical Group.
